OYO STATE PALLIATIVES AND APC MOCK CRITICISM, BEYOND AMNESIA || DEJI OLA

The saying that "the right actions at the right time brings productive outcome" can never be overemphasized regarding Oyo state palliatives. Often, focused people understand where they were and know where they want to go, but the sequence of steps from here to there eludes them. Many thanks to His Excellency for his exceptional leadership traits and healthy decision making prowess. Few weeks ago, APC lunched their criticism concerning the delay in sharing palliatives, apparently, it has no effect as it is mock in nature.

Scientifically, proper sequencing is probably one of the most important steps in life,  business and governance. People who know how to efficiently get from here to there, who can see their way through a process, see far while sitting are more effective and this is evident in GSM-led administration. No doubt, this was what the last administration lacks.

It is however significant to note that any Government without human face but obscure with haste decision making has tendency of subjecting people into unnecessary hardship. This, the current administration will avoid  in it's entirety.

On 6th May, 2020, Engr. Seyi Makinde flagged off Oyo state palliatives and I was able to juxtapose the timing, data collation and other logistics. In the same state, one accidental public servant who is in charge of conditional cash transfer claimed they have reached scores of poorest of the poor even though majority of their party leaders have contrary opinion. Little wonder, up to this moment, no beneficiary has come out with evidence of such fund. May be this is another prototype of paper-like trader moni. They should be reminded that posterity is surely waiting for them on the day of reckoning.

May I also use this opportunity to challenge our noisy neighbours (APC) on the methods they adopted in Ogun, Ondo, Ekiti, Osun and even Lagos which is their "template-state" while sharing palliative. Is there any success story so far other than diversion?

Worthy of note is the method adopted by Oyo state Government. They were able to effectively collate data of the genuine poorest of the poor and their needs. It is also important to appreciate their decision to package complete balance diet for the vulnerable. Despite the frustration, ill-politicking from APC members that are representing us at the federal level, Oyo state was able to set the template once again for her peers while giving preference to our local farmers. It's no longer news that the state under kind leadership of GSM patronises local products for this palliatives purpose.

Few hours after rolling our the packages,  opposition in the state came out with their mock criticism stating that there was no rice in the stimulus packages and one will ask, did they forget easily that their Boss sent expired bags of rice to the state which according to analysts could be injurious to human health?

Is there any journal where it is stated that there must be rice in one's diet especially where we have readily available yam that can also be converted to  yam flour and direct consumption. It is now crystal clear that their issue is beyond amnesia.

Should we continue to advise them that Covid-19 is not a respecter of political parties, religion, tribe,  ethnicity or race. Are they not aware that collective hands rescue mission? All these questions are begging for swift answers.

In as much as I will always encourage opposition in the state so as to give room for checks and balances, I will advise them to make it constructive in nature and never throw caution to the wind while discharging their opposing duties.

They must not allow the poor masses serve as bait for their unguided politicking. Politics is sweet only when the rules are strictly followed.

While praying for nomalcy to return in Nigeria and the whole world at large, I have also resolved to always remind the opposition party members on why we must collectively fight this common enemy called corona virus.
