2023: Excitement As Oyo State PDP Publicity Secretary, Engr Akeem Olatunji Declares Ambition For House of Rep in Oluyole

Oluyole Local Government was today set agog as the image maker of the ruling People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) in Oyo state, Engr. Akeem Olatunji official declares his intention to run for the Federal House of Representatives come 2023.

The epoch event which many party faithfuls and enthusiasts in Oluyole have described as “Hope 23” saw the Babaloja and Iyaloja Oluyole as well as five different Baales and religious leaders physically present to endorse Olatunji’s political aspiration as one that is a must to achieve.

Speaking with Sunrisebulletin.com at the event today March 11 at the Local Government meeting of the party in Oluyole, Olatunji said even though it was his desire as a politician to contest it took the leaders, elders and critical stakeholders of the party in the state and Oluyole local government to give him their nod after series of consultations before going public with his declaration.

He explained that his passion for Oluyole is immeasurable which was why he believes that going to represent the federal constituency in Abuja will enable him facilitate physical developments which will greatly compliment the efforts of the State government under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde.

He added that politics is a game that must be played like other sporting activities stressing that he hopes to start building his political legacy alongside the already established pattern of leadership under Governor Makinde who he described as an epitome of a good leader and an ambassador of peace.

“This declaration today is an answer to a clarion call by my people in Oluyole local government who have long yearned, thirst and hunger for responsive and qualitative leadership that will be championed by someone they believe has always been with them at the grassroots and easily accessible to all regardless of religion, ethnicity, or social status.

“Mine is simply answering their clarion call to serve because the way and manner our God sent man, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde has approached public service, any member of PDP who aspire for a public office must realize you can only try to catch up with the governor’s leadership pace by being selfless and determined to serve.

“What else can I say, I just want to say a big thank you to Governor Seyi Makinde who has through his personality, qualitative and humane leadership rebranded PDP so beautifully that our great party has become a bride to all politicians not only Oyo state but Nigeria as a whole.

“I shall also endeavor to serve my people diligently with the fear of God and love for humanity so that whatever we go to do in Abuja as legislators by God’s grace will always be a compliment to the great things our father and Governor is doing in Oyo state, God help us.

Some of the party elders and leaders who spoke stressed that Olatunji’s political aspiration has become Oluyole’s political project that must be achieved adding that PDP in the local government is ready to deploy every available resources to ensure the actualization of the project.

Present at the event are community leaders, non-political residents, the entire ten ward Councilors in Oluyole and other political appointees. Others are ward chairmen, women leaders, youth leaders, and other ward executives across the ten wards in Oluyole.
