PRESS RELEASE: IBNE Council Chair, Hon Ibrahim Akintayo Intensifies Efforts On Security Of Lives And Properties


In his bid to strengthen peace and security network in Ibadan North East Local Government, the executive Chairman of the local government has met with Agugu boys.

Having regarded the place as one of the hot spots within the council area, Hon. Akintayo went to Agugu junction to meet with the Agugu boys in order to avert reprisal attack over the death of one of them called Kokoro.

While addressing the boys at the gathering, the Chairman made them realized they can attain great height in live if they do away with all act of hooligalism and thuggery and face normal way of life.

The council boss emphasised that they can be taken care of by the local government with Provision of working tools for the artisans among them while others could be given menial jobs to make a living.

The Chairman however asked them to channelled their requests to the local government Secretariat for proper documentation.

In his address, the Divisional Police Officer, Agugu Divisional headquarters, Mr Ibrahim Isiaq said Agugu police station is ready to entertain their request and act accordingly to avert break down of law and order within their jurisdiction instead of taking laws into their own hands.

Mr. Afeez Oyekan, the Divisional Police Officer Testing Ground commended Hon. Akintayo for his different approaches targeted at reducing crimes to the beàrest minimum within the local government jurisdiction. He therefore urged the boys to embrace peace and provide police with reasonable information whenever there is any.

Alagugu of Agugu, Baale Isiaka Ajisefini urged the Chairman to consider Agugu boys whenever the Local Government is embarking on empowerment programme.

In their separate comments, Akindeji Elesu appealed to Chairman to provide social amenities to Agugu area while Mr Ambali Akingbade (Olori odo) said idle hand is the devil's workshop that Chairman should please engage their youths with government jobs.

Oloye Kazeem Alade Omotosho aka Abija Oloolu asked the Chairman to appeal to the youths to desist from destroying other people's properties and vehicles parked by the road side.

Among the Chairman's entourage to the meeting venue are; the people's Democratic party(PDP) Chairman,pa Isiaka Fatokun Abuye, Mr Remi Yussuf party leader, Special Assistants,Mr Arulogunn Abass,Mr Sola Bolarinwa,and the Security Agencies.
