Covid-19: Those Who Left Govt. Yesterday Have Not Donated.. Palliatives to be roll out from next week – Makinde’s CPS



As the Oyo state government continues to lead the state’s fight against the novel coronavirus, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Taiwo Adisa has said that those who left government yesterday have not donated to the Oyo State Covid-19 Endowment Fund Account.


Adisa, apparently referring to the All Progressives Congress, APC, political appointees in the Abiola Ajimobi-led administration said this on Saturday while featuring on a radio program in Ibadan, the state capital.


The Ogbomoso-born journalist added that the mother of the governor, Mrs Abigail Makinde has also contributed.


“Many people who believe that Oyo State should be better are contributing to the COVID-19 Endowment Fund Account.


‘Even, the mother of the Governor has contributed. Those who left government yesterday have not even donated and this is sad.” he said.


Adisa also that no case of community transmission in Oyo state.


He said “The essence of the testing is to make us get the behavior of the virus in our community. What we are doing is to give us a clue if it has gone to the community level or not. We want scientific basis for our actions.


“People should commend us because it seems we are the only state doing this. I can tell you that there has never been a case of community transmission in Oyo State. The case we have in Yemetu is really being looked at.”
