Just in: Oyo APC Members and Paradox of Behaviour Change || Deji Ola

Change according to different scholars is to make a difference in the state or condition of a thing or to substitute another state or condition; To change is to make a difference so that the thing is distinctly different from what it was. Apparently, the adjective "distinctly" in the definition is significant enough to know that doing it differently to make a positive different is non-negotiable.

The case is never the same with members of Oyo APC as they have successfully threw caution to the wind all in the name of politics.
They are hell bent in playing ill-politics with volatile issues while rendering Oyo state people helpless especially during this global pandemic.

Any latest development good or bad is an opportunity for them to confuse people just to score cheap political scores. One will wonder who still practice this type of politics in this digital and jet age when there are many produtive ways of checkmating the ruling party. This no doubt is to bring the best out of them which will in turn bring dividend of democracy to the citizenry.

According to my Bible in Romans 16:17 which read thus: _I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them._

Our people should keep away from them as they all meant evil until they change their ways.

Recently, I noticed that the evil in men can never be hidden- its like smoke coming from unknown source. Immediately after their defeat in the last gubernatorial election, majority of them claimed that the defeat is unprecedented and that they have learnt their lesson. One of their strategy is "behavioural change towards the electorates". Unfortunately, it's an illusion, mirage and even paradoxic in nature. The trying period brought upon us by the novel covid-19 is enough litmus test to know the genuiness of their resolution .

One will expect them to collectively fight the deadly virus with the state government in the interest of the masses but they choose to politicize everything.

After weeks of battling with the pandemic in the state , I still can't lay my hand on any information where their stakeholders render useful information, assistance or logistics on how to cob this manace, rather they continously celebrating any record of new covid-19 case. It marvelled me when I noticed their E-worriors wishing everyone that participated in PDP unification rally to test positive to the virus. No doubt, this is politics taken too far! "When hand shaking is going beyond elbow, serious caution need to be taken" Just yesterday, one of their boss went on air to criticize all efforts taken so far by Governor Seyi Makinde lead Covid-19 task force without proffering a reasonable solution. It's important to inform him that electorates in the pace setter state are now wise and can't be misled with microscopic palliative. Last year general election marked their liberation from shackle and manacle of oppressors as championed by GSM himself. They even claimed that their party refusal to donate to Oyo state purse is as a result of unseriousness on the part of government and I asked how best can one be serious other than this?

On 27th April, 2020, His excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde mandated that the state secretariat should be opened for resumption while civil servants from grade level 13 upward resume taking note of all necessary precautions as given by WHO and NCDC. His Excellency assured everyone that necessary arrangement had been made to effect smooth running of activities. Immediately the news filtered out for public consumption, our noisy neighbour (APC) started prophesizing doom. They failed to realize that GSM is God's own project and the faster they do the better for them.

Worst of all is the latest development that there is shortage of reagent to carry out test in the state,  even if there is shortage of the said chemical, does that warrant politicking? Notably, people are tuning up for the test and there is tendency for depreciation in the required materials. This is not rocket science. I am sure, relevant authority are working on this to avoid any form of counter-productivity.

However, my one million questions that are begging for swift answers is that: Is this the behavioural change that APC members decided to adopt? Is it logically justifiable for them to be playing politics with people's lives? If everyone dies (God forbid), will there be any election in 2023?

Let there be collective approach towards the fight against the novel Covid-19 while we all come out stronger. No doubt, there is no pandemic that last forever and this trying period will soon end InshaAllah.
