Hon Settle Olaide Inaugural Speech: I Will Improve The Social And Economic Condition Of People In Oluyole LG

INAUGURAL SPEECH DELIVERED BY THE EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN;  OLUYOLE LOCAL GOVERNMENT, IDI AYUNRE, IBADAN; HON. SETTLE OLAIDE POPOOLA.

PROTOCOLS!

I welcome you to this historical event making the inauguration of this newly elected Government made possible by the popular support of the great people of Oluyole Local Government.

Today signals a union between the old and the young, the experienced and the inexperienced, the lettered and the unlettered, the haves and the have not, the priviledged and the unpriviledged, the proletariats and the borgeoises ,the satisfied and the unsatisfied. This is the coming together of a new Oluyole, where no one matter more than the other, where class is eliminated and common values is embraced, this is a government signalling the message of the people that Oluyole is set to embark on a journey programmed by her founding fathers.

I make bold to say, this new government is a call for collectivity and a birthing of a united front, comprising men and a woman whose mandate is to run a people centred government that address the pains of a common man from the street to the farms, villages and the entire town. We have been rightly positioned through the gracious support of our people having voted us to be their representatives and the pillar through which Oluyole will be better structured to fulfil the yearning desires of her founding fathers.  I say we are here! "A TI DE, ISE BERE NI PEREU"

For us, we have no place for any political paparazzi or unnecessary beureucracies other than to run a government that would satisfy the interests of everyone who have trusted us with this mandate, we are here to race the bar of leadership and put smiles on the faces of our people again having seen their pains for a very long time especially , noting with caution, the mistakes of the past either by us or by past leaders especially those who have sat on this leadership sit and left without any leaving any track record of people centred public projects that address the needs of our people. 

On record, as a son of the soil, I honour all my fathers who have prioritize the people and serve them judiciously in their days while they were here as democractically elected Chairmen, for those who are still alive,  I say and I pray without any political undertone ;  "oluwa a tunbo je ki olasunkanwon"

Now, a lot is ahead of us and we have no time to waste preparing for what to do for our people again, we have taken our time to prepare adequately, listening to them and recording their most germane needs, it is time to implement their desires, their goals and their visions with pragmatism , depth of wisdom and a very strong political will to run a very balanced government that would go a long way in addressing the avalanche of problems confronting all strata of our population as Oluyoles.

To our Civil servants, this is your government, you are part of our people and we know without your support, our dreams won't find expression. I greatly  commend and appreciate your support while I was serving in caretaker capacity, for me, I know that what we recorded in the capacity of caretaker commitee was made possible through you. This is the time of reward! We are in this boat together and we shall land safely by the grace of God.

Lastly, our agenda for our people is captured under the blue print of the indefatigable  executive Governor of Oyo State, ENGR. SEYI MAKINDE and we have an uncommon agenda as captured in his excellencies ROAD MAP FOR ACCELERATED DEVELOPMENT OF OYO STATE, only that ours is directly targeted at IMPROVING THE SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC CONDITION OF OUR PEOPLE through direct and indirect intervention programmes that will cut across major areas of their endeavour such as:

 SECURITY

HEALTH

EDUCATION

INFRASTRUCTURAL RENEWAL , UPGRADE AND CONSTRUCTION

YOUTH EMPOWERNMENT

AGRICULTURE

SOCIAL SECURITY PROGRAMMES ETC.

We thank our leaders in the PDP for supporting us this far, many thanks to my distinguished overall leader of our party in Oluyole, HON. PRINCE LASUNKANMI SALAMI and the Party Chairman,  ALH.MUKAILA ADEGBOLA and the entire Local Government executive of my party.  May God almighty continue to make you prosper in all your ways SIRS and MAs.

Conclusively, 

Time says its our time, we honour time, posterity is waiting to record what we would do. We pray almighty God help us.
