OYO PDP STATE CONGRESS: PDP NWC Appoints Gov. Egwuanyi of Enugu as Chairman of Oyo PDP State Congress

The people's Democratic party PDP, Oyo State chapter is set to hold State Congress to elect the State officers that will pilot the affairs of the party till 2025 tomorrow, Saturday 16th of October, 2021 at Lekan Salami Sport Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan.

According to an online statement signed by the Secretary of Oyo State PDP Local Organizing Committee, Alh Wasiu Adeleke as stated below;

"Governor Ugwuanyi of Enugu State is to lead Congress Committee from the National Secretariat of PDP in Abuja to the venue of Oyo State PDP Congress by 8am for the election of a new set of Executives to pilot the affairs of PDP in Oyo State for the next 4 years.

Below are those eligible to participate or vote at the State Congress according to PDP Constitution;

According to the Constitution of our Party, the below persons are qualified to vote and participate at the State Congress 

1. State Chairman

2. Serving and Former Elected Presidents or Vice Presidents of the Federal Republic of Nigeria who are members of the Party from the State 

3. Serving and Former Elected Governors and Deputy Governor of State of members of the Party.

4. The Gubernatorial Candidate of the Party and His Deputy until a subsequent State Congress is conducted

5. Serving and Former Members of the Board of Trustees from the State who are still members of the Party 

6. The Members of the State Executive Committee 

7. Serving and Former Members of the National Executive Committee and serving members of the Zonal Executives from the State who are still members of our party

8. Serving and Former Members of the National Assembly from the State who are still members of the Party, serving members of the State House of Assembly from the State who are still members of the Party 

9. All Elected Local Government Area Party Executive Committee Members.

10. All Elected Local Government Council Chairmen and Vice Chairmen who are members of the Party 

11. All National Assembly and State House of Assembly Candidates of the Party in the State until subsequent Congresses are conducted and new candidates emerged

12. Three (3) Delegates per ward elected at the Ward Congresses at least (1) of whom shall be a woman, and all of whom shall cease to function after the conclusion of the congress for which they were elected. 

13. Former Members of the State Working Committee who are still members of the Party.

14. Former Local Government Area Party Chairmen who are still members of the Party.

15. One (1) Physically Challenged Person (PCP) per Local Government Area and Area Council Nominated by the Local Government Area Caucus 

16. All Serving Elected Local Government Councilors

17. All Serving Chairmen, Deputy Chairmen, Secretaries, Women and Youth Leaders of the Wards in the State

18. One (1) National Delegate Per Local Government Area Elected at the Local government area Congress. 

The Venue for the Congress is Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan and the time is 08am.
