AWARD: Ibadan Northeast LG Chairman, Hon Ibrahim Akintayo Honored As The Best Performing Local Government Chairman In Oyo State

     The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo has been awarded by the National Award for Excellence as the best performing Local Government Chairman in Oyo state in recognition of his developmental strides towards the development of the council area.

     According to the Chairman of the Grassroots Leadership Centre Abuja, Professor Wole Adebayo in his address ; 

"This award programme is designed as a reward for the excellent performances nominees in the various callings.

      He continued that the choice of the executive Chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim Akinsola Akintayo was arrived at having inspected various projects executed by his administration and his good leadership quality attested to through opinion poll conducted within the Local Government jurisdiction.

       Hon. Akintayo was honoured with the prestigious award for excellence in leadership as the best local government Chairman in Oyo state while and decorated by the Olori Olubadan of Ibadanland ,Chief (Mrs) Lekan Balogun .

     The Chairman in his remarks after being decorated said “Thank you for this award. I am truly honored to receive it.

It is an even greater honor to be placed in such distinguished ranks as those of the past honorees, most of whom have been colleagues at one time or another, all of whom have made important contributions to life in our city and state and all of whom I consider to be friends.

To the extent that I am being honored this morning because of a supposed ability to reach across party lines and to craft workable solutions to difficult public policy issues by combining the best ideas from each side and compromising any differences, an ability shared by many past honorees. He however stated that the award of honour given to him is dedicated to the political family in Ibadan North East Local Government, career officers who are the engine room and security operatives who stand solidly behind him and believe in his ideology which have cumulated to today's history.

 Hon Akintayo pledged further that his administration will continue to work for the betterment and growth of Ibadan North East Local Government.
