AWARD: IBNE LG Chairman, Hon Ibrahim Akintayo Awarded As Integrity Icon Of Nigeria (IION)

 

The executive chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government, Hon Ibrahim Akintayo has been awarded Integrity Icon of Nigeria (IION) by the Centre for Ethics and Self Value Orientation. The team was led by Mr Salimusa Yakub. According to him, the group is a non-governmental organisation saddled with the responsibility to fight corruption in Nigeria.

The team leader in his remark said the choice of Hon Akintayo and others was purely on merit, haven discretely sampled the opinion of people in the local government. He further analysed that the criteria adopted for the selection of worthy staff of the local government are commitment, integrity, office attendance, discipline and accessibility.

Ibadan North East Local Government as a whole was given a Certificate of Credence, as one of the most disciplined local governments and also rated 4th scoring above 70 in Oyo state. 

Hon. Sobur Akintayo, the leader of the legislative house was awarded Parliamentary Ethics Compliance (PECA) while the head of local government administration, Prince Adeyinka Adeleye was awarded Ethics, Integrity Compliance award, other awardees are the Director of Finance and Supplies, Alhaji Ahmed Lateef, Director of Administration and General Services, Dr. (Mrs) R.F Olanrewaju, Internal Auditor, Mrs Kintomo Temitope and the Supervisor for Finance, Hon Tewogboye Odeyemi were also awarded the Ethics, Integrity and Compliance award. Mr Salimusa added that the organisation is ready to train 100 staff of the local government in which 70% of the training expenses will be catered for by the body while the remaining 30% will be borne by the local government.
Hon Akintayo appreciated the organisation for counting him worthy to be honoured, likewise the local government. He pledged his support towards the effective training of staff.
