Eid-el-Kabir: IBNE LG Chairman, Hon Ibrahim Akintayo Rejoices With Muslim Faithfuls, Preaches Love, Peace, Tolerance And Good Neighbourliness

The executive chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government, Hon Ibrahim Akintayo has rejoiced with all Muslim faithfuls on the celebration of Eid l Kabir.

The chairman said witnessing another ileya calls for celebration and thanksgiving for the special grace bestowed on us by the Almighty Allah from last year till now.

Eid-el-Kabir is a season that calls for sobriety and reminds us of the sacrifices of prophet Ibrahim, our founding father of faith.

In his statement, he said ”Accept my warmest wishes to you on this solemn festival of Eid. May the blessing of Allah fill your life with peace, joy and good health. Barka da Sallah!

May Allah, on this occasion, accept our good deeds and sacrifices, alleviate our sufferings and forgives our transgressions.

This, indeed, is a time to be happy and celebrate another Sallah. It's a time to remember all that Allah has blessed us, individually and collectively, with.

As we are aware, the Eid el-Kabir festival is a test of our faith in the service of Allah and humanity. 

Let us, therefore, use the occasion to remember the sacrifice and obedience of Prophet Ibrahim to the will of Allah and to always submit ourselves to the will of the Almighty and in service to humanity. 

On this occasion, I urge you all, both Muslims and Christians, to use this period of renewal of faith and thanksgiving to continue to preach peace, show love, understanding, tolerance and good neighbourliness amongst ourselves and humanity at large.

Equally, let me use the period to thank staff and students and, indeed, the entire community of IBNELG for the wonderful support my administration enjoys, since assumption of office, and assure you of my commitment to make IBNELG greater.  

However, to achieve that dream, we should continue to work together as a people with a common goal.

Finally, I wish to use this opportunity to call on Nigerians, irrespective of religion, to devote their prayers during the Eid el-Kabir festival to pray specially to Almighty Allah to bring to an end the numerous social and economic challenges facing the country and restore unity among the citizenry.

May Allah fill our hearts with love, our souls with spirituality, our minds with wisdom and our lives with happiness on this occasion”.
