COVID-19 Pandemic has become the main sing song all over the world posing as a serious challenge to governments and individuals across various divides bringing various news of deaths, victories, human kindness and sadly dangerous politicking with supposed Statesmen dropping their beautiful garbs on the alter of myopic political ideologies!
As a result, Nigerian Governments and her states has since inception of the COVID-19 bedeviled with serious socio-economic and developmental setback which has tremendously affect the lives of virtually every citizens distinguishing no social class and stretching major businesses and daily living.
These has necessitated that all levels of Governments and public spirited people devise various means of combating the spread with various safety measures including Total Lockdown & Curfew in line with the pace set by the intelligent,astute & hardworking Governor of Oyo State, H.E Engr Seyi Makinde. This has come with the resultant arduous effects on the people with their source of living either totally or partially with governments employing strategies to ease the pains of Lockdowns through provision of PALLIATIVES.
While diverse tales have come with these support measures ranging from okay, fair to so ridiculous in the last couple of months as some politicians chose to treat their people with total disrespect but more of getting the photo and video-ops to the media space & not the humane feeling expected of them for people going through such pains as a result of the Sit-at-home Order, it's no gainsaying that some of these people treacherously abused the safety measures ordered by Governments at the dangerous expense of the health of the public!!!
Interestingly, the Good people of Oyo State had almost a year ago made a wonderful choice during the last Guber Election by giving their mandate and entrusting leadership unto our God fearing, savvy & Quintessential Gentleman Governor, His Excellency Engr Oluseyi Makinde who in his compassionate reasoning rightly appraise the nature, behavioural tendencies, business trend & agriculture prowess of the people of Oyo State & chose to order a partial lockdown or a 7pm to 6am Curfew to allow for people to earn their daily livings within reduced hours while observing necessary safety measures, a unique policy cum strategy that has now been adopted by various state Governors and even the President Muhammadu Buhari led Federal Government!
While it seems that His Excellency has found a lovely solution to a very precarious problem, in his ever humane nature, surprisingly had greater plan for the poorest of the poor who seems to be more adversely affected by the measures by ensuring they are catered for with the on-going 15Kg Food Items Palliative Package distribution to 90,000 poor families and 30,000 vulnerable people across the geopolitical zones of the state with adherence to all COVID-19 safety measures & wholesome respect for the dignity of the beneficiaries which has become a big toast and good measure of responsible and responsive governance all over the country.
In a nutshell, this awesome steps, focus leadership and ingenuous decisive pattern exhibited by Governor Seyi Makinde with the pouring of soothing Omi-Tuntun on the people cleary evident that Oyo State has a leader who is ever conscious, aware and concerned about the people he has come to serve while by constantly exhibiting the virtuous pacesetting measures has further made citizens of the world embrace the fact that AJISEBI OYO LAARI, OYO O NI SE'BI BABA ENIKAN!!!
Permit me to commend the rare ingenuity of Governor Seyi Makinde, long may u reign!!!
