Omituntun Benedict Forum : Again, Benedict Akika Empowers His Constituents

 


Benedict Akika who many has been described as a man with large heart as good people of Lagelu has testified to his good will. 


Various items were given to people at the event which took place at his residence. Mobile Phones, Grinding Machines, Sewing Machines, Chest Freezers, Clippers and Generating Sets were parts of the items distributed to the good people of Lagelu Local Government.

ll rounded empowerment program that includes Skill acquisition program for young women, a widow support fund and business start up grants for young female artisans.


To ensure good people of Lagelu has enough food at home for the celebration of Christmas, Benedict Akika also gives rice, semovita, beans to them for onward celebration of Christmas. 


Dignitaries at the occasion includes Chief Ayobami Goldsmith, the vice Chairman of Lagelu Local Government, Honourable Badmus, Hon Babajide, Chairman Water Corporation of Oyo State, Dr. Adepoju Ibarapa kan, Hon. Macadof, Lagelu PDP Chairman, Mogaji Kayode, Elder Kolapo, 


Speaking to Journalists, shortly after the programme, Benedict Akika explained that empowerment is targeted at women and youths as a way of supporting the government and driving the knowledge needed to ensure good governance of Governor Seyi Makinde reach the people of Lagelu.











For some beneficiaries Master Akinsola Ademola who received a generator set, clipper, Apron and Barbing Saloon equipments for his Saloon and Mrs Ojuolape who received Hairdryer for her hairstylist shop, it was a big joy when Mrs Olalere Salewa and Mrs Olawale Aminat who was gifted a chest freezer each appreciated the donor, Benedict Akika for the kind gesture which they said is not a surprise as the set man of Omituntun Benedict Forum has over the years been of immense blessing to the area and promised to judiciously utilize the items given to them.


He also used the occasion to remember his late father, Phillip Umoru Akika who died 28 years ago. He described his late father as hero, mentor, the greatness mathematician that ever liveth and still living in his consciousness.
