SECURITY BRIEFING: Oluyole Local Govt Chairman, Hon Settle Olaide Receives Oyo State Commissioner of Police (CP), Mrs Ngozi Onadeko





The executive chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Hon Settle Olaide receives Commissioner of Police, Oyo State, Mrs Ngozi Onadeko today at the council Secretariat at Idi-Ayunre today 23rd of December, 2021.



In a statement made available to E3NAIJA News as stated below;

Today, I receive the Commissioner of Police , Oyo State this Morning who came to get the briefings on our activities in the security sector of Oluyole Local Government.


As the Chief Security Officer of the council, I intimated her on all the giant steps and projects which we have done through the magnanimity, thoughtfulness and proactiveness of H.E, Engr. Seyi Makinde as well as support of the entire Oyo State Government led by the Executive Governor.


In my words, I made the assertion that "the spate of insecurity across the nation and state called Nigeria is increasingly alarming thereby leaving the entire 774 Local Government in perpetual and unabated theatre of avoidable woes and further justify the locality of all forms of criminalities meaning that ALL CRIMES ARE LOCAL AND CONCERTED EFFORTS MUST THEREFORE BE ENGINEERED TOWARDS BIRTHING A POSSIBLE WAY OUT" 







I also captured all the steps and projects we have carried out so far in the security sector of our council in line with the needs assessment and security inclined measures that were arrived at after due consultations particularly with intelligent experts, traditional and religious rulers which helped us to arrive at possible way out that added both local , convetional , historical and traditional approach to the seemingly disastrous national security threats. The steps and projects are:


1. Formation of OSST (OLUYOLE LOCAL SECURITY SURVEILLANCE TEAM) ; A body of men of the non conventional security outfit formed for the purpose of aiding crime control.


2. Purchase of 12 brand new Bajaj for the use of non state security actors (OSST) for patrol function to all nooks and crannies of the council.


3. Foundation Laying and ongoing construction of OMITUNTUN POLICE STATION, ONIGAMBARI (ward 9), Along Onipe, Ijebu Ode road.


4. Repair and refurbishing of Patrol Vehicles for the following Police Divisions 


A. Idi Ayunre Division

B. Toll Gate division

C. Ogbere Division


5. Provision of stationery materials for all security agencies 


6. Provision and Purchase of steel cabinet for DSS 


7. Renovation of DPO, Idi Ayunre Quarters


8. Purchase of Laptop for immigration for data capturing and profiling of all immigrants and emmigrants within the council 


9. Four newly bought Tyres for FRSC vehicle and 25 reflective jackets for use during work hours on the road.


10.Two brand new Bajaj for NSCDC for patrol and logistic functions


11. Provision of monthly stipends for all security outfits and agencies in the Local Government


12. Purchase and donation of two sniffer dogs for Oyo State Police Command.


13. Combing of forest reserve cited along Ijebu Ode road (an 11, 431 Hectares of land). This was done in collaboration with security operatives.


While It is true that our efforts are not neccessarily the end of what needed to be done, I also announce the projects that we are projecting to complete before the end of our administration as listed below:


1. Foundation laying and construction of Police Station, Afagbon (Ward 5) Along Aba Ode, Ajawele, Soka.


2. Completion of the construction of the Police Station, Atagba (Ward 7)


3. Completion of the construction of Police Station at Low Cost Housing Estate, Idiroko, Adewole (Ward 2)


4. Completion of the construction of Town Planning Police Station, Along Muslim (Ward 4).


Our Visitor; The Commissioner of Police (CP) Oyo State; Mrs.Ngozi ONADEKO applauded our strives and commended us for the youthful energy that we are exerting towards birthing a better security architecture in our Local Government and also enjoined us to remain "tactical in our approach, and continue to maintain the moving wheel of progress that we are gradually recording"


The CP thereafer visited the project site of the ongoing construction of OMITUNTUN POLICE STATION, ONIGAMBARI which she acknowledged the security advantage of the project and the socio economic benefit this will bring to the security of the entire Oyo State.


Many thanks to H.E Gov. Seyi Makinde for giving us the ball to kick and for supporting us thus far with all the needed support we need to actualize our dream of securing the local Government.


We also thank all our Leaders for turning out en mass to witness the day and backing us not to fail in delivering our tasks.


In attendance to receive the CP with me is the Vice Chairman, Hon. Tunde Ayoade, the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Azeez Babalola, Chief of Staff ; Hon. Niyi Akorede , all honourable councillors, all supervisory Councillors and Special Assistants.


We also thanked the S.A to the Governor on Oluyol Federal Constituency, Hon. Olumide Akinlade, our Party (PDP) Chairman in Oluyole; Alh. Mukaila Adegbola and all our party Leaders and Local Government excos, All Heads of Security agencies (Police, NSCDC, NDLEA, DSS , Immigration, Etc), Chairman of the League of Imams , CAN chairman and others who witnessed the event.


We pray God will strengthen Gov.Seyi Makinde to keep taking Oyo State to her dream destination and also energize us to do more for our people.
