INDEPENDENCE DAY: Hon Ibrahim Akintayo Celebrates Nigeria @61

NIGERIA @ 61

My good people of Ibadan north east local government, Today is a remarkable day because it is Nigeria’s Independence Day.

We have undoubtedly come a long way as one of the foremost local government arears in the country. Besides even a child that was born 60years ago is expected to be well developed and have some material achievement in his or her life. We may not be where we are undoubtedly supposed to be but we are certainly not where we were 60 years back.

Hence, there is every reason to celebrate this day and be thankful to God. We have come a long way and been through a lot together, part of our common struggle is the ongoing issue of COVID pandemic which I pray to God to give fortitude to the ones that have lost one person or the other while the pandemic still ravage life as we speak now.

When we came on board a year and half back the insecurities issues within the LG was nothing to write home about, this gave us great concern knowing fully well that the security of lives and property remains the cardinal objectives of the government. Thus we swung into actions, pooled resources, got all stakeholders involved and made sure there is synergy between the various law enforcement agencies in the Area to launch Operation Stay Safe IBNELG.

Our efforts are obviously paying off, and our local government area is now over 70% more safer to work and walk at anytime of the day.

In a bid to boost economic activities, we embarked on the construction of solar street light in Oje market to improve night market, alongside repair and installation of transformer at oje. Recently, approved the reconstruction of orayan market pedestrian bridge in ward 2 area.

Exercise books will be distributed to primary schools in the next 2 weeks in IBNELG, while commissioning new security architecture for the Local government again called VPS.

We have plans on increasing drugs supply to our PHCs in IBNELG to further assist my good people and God willing there is more to come in our local government area.

For sometime now, drug abuse and other delinquent behaviors have destroyed the lives of many young adult in our communities. I said to myself “ IBNE LG youth must be free from such debilitating vices”. So in order to remedy this ugly trend, the council will undertake a sensitization programmer that will educate our youth population on the need to shun vices and put their energy into more productive activities. In the same vein government will partner with the private sector to make sure a great number of our youth are given the leverages to be empowered.

Let me use this opportunity to thank all council workers for your understanding and support.

I want to assure you that my team and I will not be complacent in our drive to leave a better council than we met it and I promise to embark on projects that will impact the average person in the local government area and no stone will be left unturned in accomplishing this.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY TO YOU ALL.

LONG LIVE IBADAN STATE.

LONG LIVE IBNELG.
